Sabbath: Creation, Again
Read for This week’s Study: Rev. 21:1-5, Gen 3:19, 1 Cor. 15:52-58, Gen. 6:11-13,Isa. 11:6-9,John 14:1-3.
Memory Text: “But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:13, NIV).
In 2 Peter 3:10-13, Peter describes the fate of heaven and earth. Both, along with all that they contain, will be destroyed.
But that’s not the end of the story, not by a long shot, because a new heaven and a new earth will be created in their stead.
Look at the contrast between the two existences. Sin has dominion in the old one, righteousness dwells in the new. Death rules in the old one, life in the new. The contrast couldn’t be more striking, or absolute.
As we can see in these promises, too, God’s role as Creator didn’t end with the first Creation of the earth. It doesn’t end with the work that He does in us, to make us new creatures in Christ either. No, it continues. The same Lord who through the supernatural power of His Word created the world once will create it again, and with His supernatural power too.
Indeed, without this last act of creation, all the previous ones would come to nothing. The new heavens and the new earth are the culmination of God’s promises to us.

Because of His love, hope and rest, I can keep going even when things look the bleakest. I can truly do all things because of the strength I receive from Him, and part of the strength comes from that hope, rest and love that I find in Him and His wonderful promises for the future. Still, just Himself and His love and rest for today and the hope that life does have meaning makes the journey of each day sweet.
The longer this world goes on the more vile, frightful, immoral, and evil it becomes, the greater Christ's promise of a new heaven and a new earth becomes our hope.
We see all around us the truth of His Word regarding the end time.
We are looking forward to see Jesus Christ the saviour for the new heaven and the new earth thatHe has promised us about(2 Peter 3:13).This earth that we are living on will be destroyed and instead of it He will descend a NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH.As sin has dominion in the old so as the new one, righteous shall prevail over.There wouldn't be any sin nor death and everything shall be new.The new hesven and the new earth are the culmination of God's promises to us.Jesus Christ has promised us of a certain land of which He is preparing for Himself therefore we need to go for it.
What a wonderful thought it is to know what the future wil be like. a new heaven and a new earth for us to inherit. i think that those who will enjoy life in the new earth are only those whose natures have been made new in the blood of christ. 2 cor 5:17. this new nature is ours to inherit now, otherwise we may miss the bliss of heaven. heaven is for new people.
where ever we see we see the sign of death and curse due to sin in this earth .God has given a blessed path for us to free from this sign through christ and give all the things which we lost by sin but new earth is not a coming one Christ told that 'the heaven is in you' what is meant by heaven just 'the presence of christ is heaven'so when we began to lead the life of christ through the power of holy spirit its the new earth .New earth is not a new one for real SDA beliver. we should live the new earth life in this old earth so we will be the sign of the new earth and a hope for this dying world.
I can say Christ from the bigining has a backup plan, that when man signed there will be hope. Because He christ died for our sins. And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves , but unto him which died for them, and rose again 2Cor 5:15.
Like new wine needs new wine skins,like David asking God to "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me",so do we need a new character to enter into God's new heaven.
Corruption,Sin and death belong to the Old order and have no place in the righteousness of "all things new".
Unless we cleanse our robes in the blood of the lamb,we have no passport into the new Jerusalem.
We are not doing enough for much to see. I would like to see the effort of all Seventh-day Adventist supply the world with love.
Just as we are still in the old earth its appropriate for us to make preparations to welcome the new earth becaus it is not possible to move in with our old ways of life to the new earth.So as evil is increasing rapidly in our world today, we too should increase in righteousness in order to giv our redeemer a warm welcome at His comming.
Can someone please explain this statement: (last paragraph) "Indeed, without this last act of creation, all the previous ones would come to nothing." Does this mean unless God makes the heavens and earth new that the second creation of man (our redemption/restoration/sanctification)would be worthless?
Oh how I want to be part of that creation! when this mortal body puts on immortality where will Satan and his sicknesses be. the world where rejected ones shall be loved the most. what does this tells us about God's love for us?
Because of Christ blood , a wrench like you and I can now see the most holy father's face.
Oh i can´t wait for that glorious day. God come and take us home from this sin-sick world.
We shall only appreciate the new earth if we see how sinful this old one is....secondly in terms of God creative ability, he has power to create from nothing or from something existing. in the latter case, then there must cease to exist, the old, same for a Christian life, the old must die for a new christ creation be born. finally, remember the creative power of God is the only one capable of creating or changing a Christian and this earth.....
