Sabbath: Creation: Forming the World — 23 Comments

  1. If there were no scriptures i think knowledge could not be among men, its why scientists object the word of scripture, they wanted to prove that God does not exist by proving that the creation was all about evolution, but all things GOD created

  2. I am thankful for the SSNET/adult study guide though we got no quarterly(the printing press has not enough for English verison) we can still avail the good thoughts on our quarterly every week.Thank you dear authors you helped us spiritually.

  3. Science and evolution are Satan's weapons to drive the nations away from the creator, We have to hold the faith we have that the Heavens and the Earth were created by the words of God, evolution is EVIL. Let us not be deceived. Amen

    • This is so true! Satan has created a "counterfeit" for everything God created... But it's also true that the more scientists try to disprove God's existence, the more "evidence" they "discover" that proves it! 😀

    • Dear Joseph,
Please recognize that "science" simply means "knowledge." And the study of science is not evil; it is good. In fact, studying God's creation should bring us to a better understanding of our Creator, as Paul indicated in Ro 1:20.

It is only when we consider ourselves to be wiser than God that science becomes a snare. You see, science can only really study what exists right now, and it can make educated guesses about the past. It cannot tell us what really happened in the past. It is not possible for science to tell us how this world came to be, because there was no scientist there to observe it, and it cannot be reproduced and observed in a laboratory.

Evolution actually means "change over time." It is something we can see all around us. Things change, and most natural change (other than growth) is towards decay. Things don't get better by themselves. But organisms change, and this change over time is one form of evolution.

Scientists who accept that God created this planet also accept this type of evolution, and they may call it micro-evolution. What they do not accept is that this kind of observable evolution can account for the intricate and complex life forms we see on this planet, including man. In fact, scientists know that evolution cannot account for such life, and they hold conferences behind closed doors to puzzle over the problem, but they have no solution.

The Bible does tell us of a solution: God created a perfect world by divine fiat. But since sin, this world and the solar system has been "running down," decaying more and more. Observable evolution is towards disorder and decay, not greater order and complexity. Thus observable evolution contradicts the theory of origin by evolution.

The bottom line is that science is good, but science without God leads to bad conclusions. And evolution is fact, but it cannot account for the origin of life on this planet, and every real scientist knows it.

      • Though the word "evolution" simply means change, in our society the word is used to describe a process whereby one organism eventually becomes a different organism, (usually a step up from what it was), but the "change" that is observable to scientists in any given generation is not that "evolution", but rather either adaptation, or the lack thereof which leads to break down.

        • The meaning of the evolution itself changes over. To be more specific one should distinguish between cosmic and biological evolutions. The cosmic evolution is a theory that tries to explain how the universe (cosmos) came to be without God. The biological evolution is another theory that tries to explain how living organisms came to be without God and how they developed from simple organisms to complex ones like humans. The biggest trouble for the biological evolution is the need for increase of information, and so far nobody can offer a fairytale how it is possible. Therefore evolutionists try to create other definitions and avoid the problem. Both theories are referring to beginnings, none can be tested or verified. Other sciences are called operational sciences, can be verified or falsified, and have great achievements.

  4. Re "Who formed it to be inhabited": Our world was never intended just to be a zoo. Mankind was deliberately given a mind capable of communion with His God and productive activity. What other animal would you trust to design, make and operate a plane for example? So let us thank God for making us with such intelligence.

  5. I extend my Thanks to The Almighty God on this planet called Earth Not a one person born with a Micro Chip to function like an Android programme.
I am so appreciative much gratitude for this New Quarter for the Sabbath School on The Subject The Topic " Origin" within this very Evil Generation.

  6. In the first paragraph for Sabbath reading the author states the following: "Starting with a planet that was unformed and unfilled, God spent the first three days forming the world for occupation and the last three filling it." I would like to suggest also the last three days He assigned a purpose for the first three. Creating light on the first day He assigned it a purpose on the fourth.

  7. I don't think we need proof to believe that God created the heavens and the earth but to take it by faith that he did. Hebrews 11:3.

  8. I disagree. In my opinion, the wish to know and to create was integrated into humans beings by God, because "Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." (Genesis 1,26). So, I do not see science as a rebellion against scripture. Surely, there are scientist whose only aim is that: To prove Bible wrong. But the wish for knowledge itself - that is something God "put into us".

  9. An analogy: If I turn off the lights in my house, there is still light outside. If I go to the depths of Carlsbad Caverns,
and the tour guide turns out the lights, there is still light. We have not experienced total lack of light on this planet, just as we have not experienced the light that God wants us to see by being in His presence.

    • God's creation is so amazing. He created things in a very systematic way, with so much intent&purpose. It made me see how God is BIG and I am small.
God didn't just invent the computer world (which most of us get excited about), He created all things in this world- including the minds& intellect of human being that now continues to create& invent things..But the most amazing fact is that same Big God, is the same One who came down on earth to die at the cross of calvary for the unworthy me. God's love for us is so amazing! It's interesting how when we,reflected God's love through Jesus at the calvary in all our studies, including the doctrines,it just becomes more personal and more meaningful. Stay connected in God's amazing love..=)

  11. Were it not for Jesus to come down and live among men, almost everybody by now could be backing scientific theories.

  12. For we know all things were created by God.(Colossians 1:16) This lesson seem to be casually putting forth a thinly veiled version of the Big Bang theory. It appear to imply that creation only began at the moment God said let there be light. From reading the narrative put forth is Sunday's lesson, it seem to suggest, the foundation of the earth has always been here (as some religious groups believe) or came into existence as a result of the Big Bang. My understanding of Genesis 1-3 ESV is that Trinity put in place the foundation, water and darkness, inspected it with Holy Spirit, then called for the presence of light so as to make it inhabitable.

  13. we have to be total careful with kind of Bible we read ourdays bcoz alot doctrine have been placked and changed, we by the "Word all things were created" 'Jn 1:4-5' this proves that GOD is the source of life.

  14. can someone make it more clear how "even then morning" proves that biblically day begins at evening and not morning as some other web site tries to prove?

    • Mwivanda, I think Leveticus 23:32 may help, where it says to celebrate your Sabbaths from evenings to evenings. Plus we are all familiar that the evening of December 31 is New Years eve or evening, as well as Christmas evening is actually December 24.
