Sabbath: Lord of the Sabbath — 4 Comments

  1. "In urging the sacredness of, and gratitude for, the Lord's day, a Chinese preacher said: 'It came to pass that a man went to market, having a string of seven large copper coins. (Chinese coins were carried on strings over the shoulder.) Seeing a beggar crying for alms, he gave the poor creature six of his seven coins. Then the beggar, instead of being grateful, crept up behind the man and stole the seventh also. What an abominable wretch! Yes, but in saying this you condemn yourselves. You receive from the hands of the gracious God six days, yet you are not content. The seventh also you steal."
-from the book "501 Illustration" by Robert H. Pierson., noted from 'Pilgrim Holiness Advocate'.

-many of us are guilty of stealing God's special Day, which is the Sabbath. God's law is the reflection of His perfect character. God never changes (Malachi 3:6), that's why keeping the Sabbath Day must not be changed also. Keeping the commandments of God specially the commandment for Sabbath is pointing us toward
Jesus, which offer salvation for all who believe on His name. "Jesus is our all and in all".

  2. It's true, for man needs a rest, a good one, so God saw it best for man to get some good time so there comes a blessed day, the Sabbath.

  3. Six day creation plan and the seventh day Sabbath were a foretaste of our plan of salvation based on the plan of redemption. This is a confirmation that when Jesus comes, we shall enter a complete rest. a rest that is revealed in the 4th commandment. We shall have a rest with everyone within our household, we shall only be praising God, and this is the kind of rest that our God is commanding us to remember and to practice on Sabbath for his glory.
