  1. The Potatoe chip story is really an interesting read evan more so that I have a sister whose name is winsome. We often use to say to her as a child you winsome and you losesome. Winsome's character does match some of the words you listed. I will share this story with her, she is in the ministry, very active for the soon coming. Praise god 🙂

  2. Quite frankly, I was astonished and delighted by the simplicity of the idea behind the article "Potato Chip Christians", and I would like to thank Lillianne Lopez for sharing that with us! It is an excellent example of "practical Christianity" applied.

  3. Lilliane I love this whole article! As I read the analogy of the potato chips and how "you can never eat just one", I thought of how I try to leave each Bible study with the people always wanting more, instead of wondering when I am going to leave!

  4. What a great analogy and oh so true. I heard two girls talking on the bus one day. One was a young single mother. Her friend suggested that she go to a church program that offered help with raising her baby with different classes and a time to spend with other young mothers. Her response was, "I went there once and came out feeling shame and discouraged, and these women call themselves Christians. If that is what it is like who needs God.

I want to be a 'potato chip christian'. Thank you for sharing your winsome thoughts. 🙂

  6. I have seen Christians who preach the kingdom but act like the world. They are hypocrites and do far more damage to the cause of Christ than the atheist. They are also the ones who receive the greatest condemnation in the judgment because they have had more light revealed to them about what love is like than those on the outside of the church yet ignore it. People like that remind me so much of what Paul said:

Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God, and know His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law.
You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is written (Rom 2:17-24 NKJV).

  7. The article is so inspiring. It just reminded me of my latest observation of the change of attitute within the church by members especially when we have visitors. When I was a small girl I could remeber church members tend to be really loving and more welcoming when a visitor (esp. new interest) comes to church for the first time. I dont see that happening much nowadays and thats saddening to me.

I Hope this quarters lesson will help us improve on that.

  8. Absolutely love it. It has lifted me up. I will definitely share this entire story and presentation with my church family. As we are about to launch 'The Great Controversy' this sabbath, maybe it is a great demonstration to use. God Bless you.

  9. Love the story about the chip and the rice field. Not to find fault with the farmers, But wish the people could have been Christans and Jews, or Christains and Gentiles. Since this is a Religous issue not a Ideology mission. Love the story. IT is about Christ's Love for all.
