Sabbath: Christ, the End of the Law — 14 Comments

  1. While we are living we must realize that without the Holy Spirit it is impossible to keep the law of God. Obeying the law of God with the Spirit creates within us a fire and a zeal that transforms us into loving men and women. Joy will come in our lives and we will yearn to serve others In fact we will live for that honor.

We will also begin to see others in a different light. We will stop judging them and begin to understand that because we have been saved by grace and not the law, we now ca love and pray, instead of condemning. May God be with all of us

  2. No one knows who will be save or who will be lost. But by accepting Jesus as our personal saver, we believe by faith when we die or if we die, this mortal body of flesh that is subject to death will put on immortality at the second coming of Jesus. Those who are alive in Christ at his coming will also put on immortality. Despite we know the law cannot provide this change in us from mortal(subject to death) to immortality(will not die). We were told this change cannot be made if we refuse to obey Gods' law. As we study last week their is not margin of error to Gods' law, either we obey or don't obey.

    • marva richmond,

I strongly believed you, The law cannot change or transformed us neither con it save us, where our Mortal body will be death, and We all will put on an immortality body, but despite that, all these change will never happen if we we did not obey God's law very interesting.but my question here is, can the Grace along save us?

      Thank you.

  3. David in Romans 1:5 Grace saves us from disobedience and gives us obedience. In Ephesians 2:8-10 grace gives us good works. In Titus 2:11-12 grace saves us from sinful lifestyles. We are saved by grace alone, but grace more than saves us from death. It also saves us from sin.

    • To me i think because the law is showing us our righteousness and unrighteousness, for us to be righteous we must live right by being obedience to God's Law. Because the law can not fixed us! That is why we need the grace of God to be saved,is a gift from God nobody work for it.

We can not say that because we receive Christ we do not need to struggle with our self. We are free to do anything we like no! The law is there to guide us on how to receive Christ and allow Christ to live in us. God will hep us to understand the work of grace in our live.

  4. With our sinful nature it is near impossible to keep the laws of God but if we fully surrender to the able hands of God and allow the holly spirit to take control of our lifes then we will joyfully and willingly keep and abide by the laws of God under the guidance of the holly spirit.

      • David, that is what Eph 2:8,9 says, but it is through, or by means of, faith, and they are both gifts of God. The resasons for the laws are to point to, or to identify sin. This is where the problems begin. Many view the purpose of the law differently. Eph 2:9 explains that our endeavors to save ourselves are useless. What we believe is manifested in actions, not words.

  5. Does this mean all muslims would not be saved?
I know they believe they will be saved through their good deeds, so does that mean they wouldn't be saved because they dont believe in 'being saved by Grace'?

    • The short answer is; no it does not mean that. Jesus has told us that he has other sheep which he must also bring to him. People who live up to the light that they have will be saved, and I suspect that there will be quite a few surprises when we get to heaven. That is no excuse for us to stop sharing our love for Jesus, but we should not become egocentric about our beliefs.

    • What bothers me most is what Jesus said to the Pharisees, "And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Mat 8:11-12 NKJV). Of course He was talking of those who arrogantly think they are automatically saved while everyone else will be lost like the publican and the sinner praying in the temple.

    • Ayo, it does not matter which religion you belong to, if one does not believe in Jesus, he/she will not be save. Jesus said in his word that he came to save us from our sins, no one else can take that spot. If you don't believe that, them how can he force you into heaven, you will not want to be with him.You will not be happy

  6. He who is born of God doesn't commit sins, and who does commit the same doesn't know God and he never knew Him11JOHN3:6-9
. Friends for us not to transgress the law we need to humble ourselves and abide in JESUS that's the only way through which we may overcome sin and all its consequences including mortality itself.
