Sabbath: With the Rich and Famous — 12 Comments

  1. This reading says a lot to us, as Christians we should look beyond the monetary value of the world and look to Christ for all of our riches. Jesus does not care how big your bank account is; He wants to see how big your heart is toward your fellow man.

  2. I humbly want to tell the people of God that Jesus truly loves them, and when we seek him with all our hearts we will definitely find him. So cheers brethren because we have a saviour that cares so much about us, may he reigns forever and ever amen.

  3. Hi all,

God is faithful in all his good promises.

Our Gaze should be on the future ahead of us while we learn from past events.

Can money give everlasting life? By no means.

John3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life.

Our salvation is not measure by richness, but yes by a life surrendered to Christ Jesus although we are rich.

All glory be to God. Amen

Jesus always wants the best for us. He wants us to have the most prescious thing, and thats spiritual being. To the contrary we think Jesus is jelousy, He doesnt want us to enjoy the most pressure of the world(money). Money is a decieving tool, despite that our daily needs demand money, but it has closed our eyes of faith in Christ. We need to be careful with money

  5. The issue of money and God has brought a lot of controvesy between God's people. Some have come to the conclusion that if you still struggle financialy, its a clear affirmation that God has not blessed you,yet God's blessings are not measured in monetary values. Jesus makes it clear that "the poor we will always have"to me it implies that money has no credentials or highly esteemed over real life. If admission to heaven required money, surely we could be all candidate, or just a few who has it. Truly the world today has become a worshiper of money ,rather than God himself. I pray that God help us to understand that worship is due to the provider not to the provision.

  6. I thank you lord for this weeks lesson that helps me to deeply understand that, it's not what I always get from my money that keeps me alive. It's how I use my money in your services and for your services and so during times when there is not a single penny in my pocket I still live.

    Amen.

  9. There is a local song i like where the musician wonders if the death angel would be interested in money so he can pay the death angel and he does not visit him. Literally this guy was scared of death and would have wished to pay to live. What is interesting is that the death angel too is not interested in money, ideally meaning that as far as life is concerned, money is useless! So yes we need money but however for one purpose, to help us do things in this world that will prepare us for life to come-eternal life. Money is to be used for activities that will be put us in a position to be able to do God's work. Talk of good health, travelling for ministry, good shelter and the like. It can also be important in helping others. I also believe that the more you have, the more you are to use it for God's cause. If not, then you will be among those like the young man who was sorrowful because Jesus had asked him to sell his possessions so he could get eternal life.

  10. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me".There is a very thin line between the gospel of prosperity and the worship of money. What occupies your thoughts all the time becomes your God.Let's worship Him who created the heaven and the earth.

When a game of chess is over, the king and the pawn return to the same box.Jesus knew that death,as with salvation, is no respecter of persons. In us he sees no wealth (or lack of it) but a hopeless sinner who needs to be saved.

  11. thank you for all the comments every one has made regarding money, indeed we need money to survive and money itself is good thing. the problem is what do we do with it is another issue, we need to ask God for guidance on how to be true steward of what He has given us. have a happy Sabbath.
