  1. God is the key that opens and stays in our hearts so as to rivive the souls. Please lets give our hearts to. This lesson is more helpful

  2. Lasr week we see one aspect of church life-praying to the Lord and now we see Matt 24:14 a second aspect of proclaiming good news about Kingdom.

Revival cannot start on the street if it does not first start within the heart. To being about true revival must also go hand on hand with true repentance of the soul. Pray he Holy Spirit give us all this conviction so that we may have the true power & spirit needed for reveal.

  4. Hmmn! I wonder what we should be studying in the Word.

Jesus had something important to say in John 5: 39 (NKJV) "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me."

The seriously important bit comes after the "and". I wonder why that verse was written in scripture!

    • I agree with you; that verse give us true balance with scriptures. Not the peoples of the book but peoples of living Jesus - Lion from Juda and wild lion not some in zoo. Wild and strong and well alive.

    • Maurice, here are two other parallel texts:

And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. (Lk. 24:27 NKJV)

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (Jn. 17:3 NKJV)

The word "theology" is derived from the Greek word "theos" which is translated in the New Testament as God. No matter what we study in the Bible it involves God in some way or another. To me then, it is ok to study Rev 12, 13 or the plagues in Rev 16. It is ok to study the sanctuary in the Old Testament and all the laws concerning it or any other seemingly unrelated topic for that matter.

I think the trick here is to keep our study Christ centered. That means to see a relation between what we are studying and the great controversy particularly how God relates to His creatures. Of course the cross is the main thing in this respect but everything else in the Bible has something to do with it.

It is when we isolate a topic and treat it as some unrelated fact that it becomes a dry, legalistic study with little benefit to our salvation.

  5. Our loving God uses his holly scriptures to revive most of us and his holy spirit convicts us through the written word

  6. You know: There are a many a Christians that find themselves reading the Word out of "duty" rather than a true, loving desire to get to know Them better. I'm finding that the remedy to staleness in the relationship is an authentic will for change; sin must absolutely be despised. Your need must be acknowledged, in which He then drives you to your knees to share with Him what He already knows about you and finally the thirst for righteousness begins, which He promised to fulfill.

    • Michelle, I do agree but to me it is not a matter of getting to know the Bible but rather getting to know the God of the Bible, Jesus Christ. We are told that the Pharisees memorized immense portions of the Old Testament but it didn't do them any good. As Maurice pointed out, "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me” (Jn 5:39). They failed to see the one who the Scriptures were talking about and because of that they failed to know the God they said they worshipped, the one Jesus spoke of, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (Jn. 14:9 NKJV). To them Jesus was an imposter so they resolutely rejected Him and became worst than heathen.

  7. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. This forms the basis of the scriptures in the Bible.

    • Moses, I'm using a bit of a teaching trick here, but would you like to expand on why you think that phrase forms the basis of the scripture?

  8. Take Note...
    "In the beginning God..." Genesis1:1
"In the beginning was the Word..." John1:1
Here we realize that the foundation is God and Jesus who is the Word. David when writing says, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Psalms11:3
If we remove the foundation which is the Word of God, there will be none righteous because we will be building on the wrong foundation. Jesus likened a person who build on the foundation of the Bible and called that person a "WISE MAN". He said, " Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock" those who do not do is likened to a foolish man. Matthew7:24-27.
The foundation for revival is Jesus who is also the Word.

  9. Jesus was right when he told the people in john 5:39 that they study the scriptures thinking that there is life in then.
He Jesus wanted them to know the difference these other scriptures and his word(scriptures)and that instead of studying the word we needed to have the word in us to stay because Jesus is the word himself. They were studying the book and not Jesus meaning revival comes by knowing Jesus, not the book.

  10. There is no other book that can change one's life than the Bible if searched diligently with the use of Holy Spirit. I have found comfort in this special book and its my prayer that we all live by it and share with our beloved friends.

  11. Faith comes by hearing and the rt words that make such impression must come from God's word. I haven't seen anything like it.
