Sabbath Afternoon

(1 John 1:9 NIV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

(Mat 6:33 NIV) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

(Heb 13:5 NIV) Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

(John 16:33 NIV) "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

(2 Cor 4:17-18 NIV) For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. {18} So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Sunday (Helps)

His Healing Touch For Body And Soul

(Mat 14:35-36 NIV) And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him {36} and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.

(James 5:14-15 NIV) Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. {15} And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Monday (Helps)

His Healing Touch Through Forgiveness

(Mat 6:12-15 NIV) Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. {13} And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' {14} For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. {15} But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

(Luke 23:34 NIV) Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

(Isa 40:29-31 NIV) He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. {30} Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; {31} but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Tuesday (Helps)

His Healing Touch In Suffering And Trials

(Mat 27:26-50 NIV) Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. {27} Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. {28} They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, {29} and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said. {30} They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. {31} After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him. {32} As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. {33} They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). {34} There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it. {35} When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. {36} And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. {37} Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS. {38} Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. {39} Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads {40} and saying, "You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!" {41} In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. {42} "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. {43} He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'" {44} In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him. {45} From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. {46} About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" {47} When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah." {48} Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. {49} The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him." {50} And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

(Isa 53:4-5 NIV) Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. {5} But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

(Mark 1:41 NIV) Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"

Wednesday (Helps)

His Healing Touch Whatever The Circumstances

(Mat 9:27-31 NIV) As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" {28} When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. {29} Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"; {30} and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this." {31} But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.

(Mat 11:28-30 NIV) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. {29} Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. {30} For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

(1 Pet 5:6-7 NIV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. {7} Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Thursday (Helps)

His Healing Touch Is Not Always Physical Healing

Read Mark Chapter 10

(Mat 26:39 NIV) Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

(Mat 26:42 NIV) He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

(Mat 26:44 NIV) So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

(Rom 8:28 NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Friday (Helps)

(Luke 8:43-48 NIV) And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. {44} She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. {45} "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." {46} But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." {47} Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. {48} Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."
