  1. For the good of the entire universe through eternity he must be allowed to more fully develop his principles. In this way Satan’s charges against the divine government might be seen in their true light and the justice of God and the unchangeable nature of His law might be forever placed beyond question. My question is, why is sin permitted for such a long time, satan has fully develop his principles even to the extent of crucifying Christ. All we are seeing is repetitive destruction.

  2. Sandy,

The same question has occurred to me. How bad does it have to get before God acts? In Genesis 15, God states that “I will not drive out the Amorites until they become so wicked that they must be punished.” That took over four hundred years, while the Abram’s decedents were treated cruelly and were crying out for relief. (Exodus 2:23-3:10.) By the time the Amorites were dispossessed, they were very bad. Such is the love and forbearance of God.

However, the metric for God’s action may not be how bad it is, but whether his people have committed themselves to work with him to complete the gospel commission.

    Just a thought.

    Richard

    Amen!(0)
