Tuesday: A King’s Promises — 1 Comment

  1. Read the story in 1 Kings 22
Four hundred prophets surround the king and tells him to go to battle.
Not convinced King of Judea asks king Ahab “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”
King Ahab states “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”

Jehoshaphat knew the truth has not been spoken.

How is your integrity with the family? It's hard to be a fake because there is no guise to hide behind.
How is your integrity at work? It can be hidden for a while but it will eventually rear it's ugly head.
How is your integrity today? Do not fear who you are. Surrender to him. He is not asking us to be perfect.
He is asking permission for His work to be done in us.
One of my favorite verse: In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father inheaven. 17Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them in us.

The Israelites missed the point they sang "That will be glory for me."
Jesus is saying, "That will be glory to thee (God of heaven and earth)."
    It's always all about Him.

The impossibility of humanity magnifies and glorifies God.
