Purpose of the SSNET2 Mailing List

SSNET2 is a mailing list to distribute Sabbath School lesson teaching aids. It is an adjunct to our SSNET discussion list, which is a forum to discuss the Seventh-day Adventist weekly Bible Study Lesson for adults, as published by the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Sabbath School department. (Note, however, that the teaching helps are supplied by individuals who are independent of the General Conference Sabbath School Department.)

We sometimes mail out third-party teaching helps, but there are two writers who write material specifically for SSNET:

  • Joyce Griffith
  • Michael Fracker

Their lesson helps are normally posted to SSNET.org each week, but some people find the email format more convenient. It is especially good for people who must pay for internet connection time.

We strive to provide you with some of the best teaching aids we can find. If, however, you see a problem with some of the material we send out, please feel free to contact us through the “Contact” link found at the top of this page.

If you are subscribed to the main SSNET discussion list, you do not need to subscribe to this list in order to receive teachers’ helps, because they are already included in the main list.

SSNET2 subscribers receive only Lessons Helps generally meant for Sabbath School teachers. We usually mail out several sets of helps from different sources, so you may choose which best suits your local situation.

If you  want to discuss the content of the lessons, please join the  SSNET discussion list, not SSNET2.

SSNET2 is a low-volume list, compared to the relatively high-volume SSNET list.

Note: If you reply to SSNET2 mailings, your reply will go to the SSNET discussion list. Unless someone (most likely Joyce Griffith) decides to summarize these responses for you, you will not see them. If you wish to write directly to an author of one of the sets of lesson helps, please be sure that the author’s email address appears in  the “To:” line of your email program. Of course, you can comment on their posts on this website as well.

The default list should be “ssnet2.” Click on the  <Subscribe> button, and you will receive an email asking you to confirm the subscription. You will not be subscribed until you have replied to the confirmation email. After this you should receive 2-4 emails a week with lesson helps.

Anyone is welcome to join SSNET or SSNET2. We currently (July 2012) have over 4,500 members from around the world (from at least 36 countries) and from many faiths.

Please be sure to unsubscribe before you change email accounts or before you leave on vacation if your server allows you limited space for email storage. You can re-subscribe as soon as you get back.

Click here to unsubscribe from SSNET2

Choose the “Unsubscribe” button. (This is the same form as the sign-up form.) You do not need to give your name, but please be sure to fill in the exact email address you wish to have unsubscribed. You will receive an email asking you to confirm the unsubscription request. You will not be unsubscribed until you have replied to the confirmation email.

If you need help in subscribing or unsubscribing, you may email us being sure to indicate which email address is subscribed or you wish to have subscribed and the name of the list to which you are or wish to be subscribed. (If you are subscribed to SSNET2, please say so.)

We hope that you will find these study helps useful as you seek to lead your Sabbath School class into a deeper fellowship with Christ in anticipation of His Second Coming.

This list is indebted to Andrews University and Dan Bidwell insofar that the computer which hosts SSNET is physically housed at Andrews University and runs smoothly under Dan Bidwell’s management. However, SSNET is not officially sponsored by either Andrews University or the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Yours in His service,
The SSNET Moderatorial Team

    • Oarabile, to download a copy of the lesson go the top of this page and click on [Study Guides] in the menu, right under the picture of the Bible. It will take you to the main resource page for Sabbath School lessons. There you will find a number of options for downloading the Sabbath School lessons, including the PDF format of the Standard Edition, the Teachers' edition and the Easy Reading Edition

If you want to download a PDF copy from the Office of the Adult Bible Study Guide of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, go to the bottom of their screen, and you will see a box with the words "Order or Download." Choose which type of lesson you want, from that point on you can pick what week's lesson you would like to see. At the bottom of the screen there is a little pop-up window with several options for saving the PDF file or printing it.
