15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
9And he spake also this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and set all others at nought: 10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get. 13But the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner. 14I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.
9The meek will he guide in justice;
And the meek will he teach his way.
4For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people:
He will beautify the meek with salvation.
6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.
