01: The Uniqueness of the Bible – Singing with Inspiration
To have a hymn for a theme this Second Quarter of 2020, would see not just one, but many from which to choose. Here are just two, the first being:
Hymn 272, Give Me the Bible, followed by
Hymn 277, For Your Holy Book We Thank You.
Sabbath afternoon’s reading reminds us that the Bible is the Word of God –
Hymn 274, O Word of God Incarnate.
God spoke
Wonderful Words of Life, Hymn 286 to Moses, who in turn stressed that the people were to focus on their God, and observe and obey “all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 32:46).
Revelation 12:17 (Sunday) tells of a people who remain faithful to all the Scriptures at the end of earth’s history –
Hymn 602, O Brother, Be Faithful. We find all through scripture that Jesus is the focus, so once again, please
Tell Me the Story of Jesus – Hymn 152.
The Bible writers were called by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit –
Hymn 268, Holy Spirit, Light Divine,
Hymn 269, Come, Holy Spirit and
Hymn 266, Spirit of God. Romans 15:4 says”….the encouragement of the Scriptures is that we might have hope” gives us
Hymn 214, We Have This Hope.
Tuesday states the Bible is the prophetic Word, written by the prophets –
Hymn 413, God Has Spoken by His Prophets.
With the troubles multiplying in this old world, everyone is looking for something or someone to trust, and the Someone to discover in the Word of God leads to conviction, repentance, and the power to change –
Hymn 510, If You But Trust in God to Guide You.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
