07 Sharing the Word – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 9, 2020 by Corinne KnopperAugust 9, 2020avatar

The title for the quarter’s lesson pamphlet immediately brings to mind Hymn 499 – What  A Friend We Have in Jesus. This weeks’ study title gives encouragement to us to open our Bibles and share the Word – Hymn 272 – Give Me the Bible,  Hymn 286 – Wonderful Words of Life and then  I Will … Continue reading –>

07: Sharing the Word – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 9, 2020 by Joyce GriffithAugust 9, 2020Joyce Griffith

Symbols of God’s Word. The Bible is loaded with symbols, some of them enticing and good, others puzzling and even confusing. What symbols do we find pointing to the Word of God as we study to draw men and women to Jesus? Jeremiah uses the fire and hammer as symbols of God’s Word.  How do these … Continue reading –>

07: Sharing the Word – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 9, 2020 by Michael FrackerAugust 24, 2020Michael Fracker

Key Thought: When we share the Word of God, our primary goal is not to prove that we are right and the other person is wrong; it is to reveal Jesus in each facet of the truth we share. August 15, 2020 1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 1:1-3; Psalm 33:6-9. Ask class members to … Continue reading –>

06: Unlimited Possibilities – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 3, 2020 by Joyce GriffithAugust 3, 2020Joyce Griffith

(The following topics are presented to encourage group discussion and individual exploration of this week’s theme.) Differing gifts: united in service. Our lesson reminds us that the disciples were not identical replicas of one nature but were diversified, different, special people with individual gifts and challenges. Should we be that diversified today? Should we strive … Continue reading –>

06: Unlimited Possibilities – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 3, 2020 by Michael FrackerAugust 24, 2020Michael Fracker

Key Thought: God calls us to witness for Him. Witnessing is not a special gift. Witnessing is the Divine calling of each Christian. Soul-winning is a science, and we need to study and learn how to be good witnesses. August 8, 2020 1. Have a volunteer read I Corinthians 12:12,13, 18-22. Ask class members to … Continue reading –>

Hit the Mark – Unlimited Possibilities

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 3, 2020 by Curtis HallAugust 3, 2020avatar

“You’re gonna need a bigger boat” That was uttered by Sheriff Martin Brody in the iconic movie “Jaws.” In search of a killer shark, it was an admission that everyone had underestimated the size of their target.  Similarly, at my first glance at this week’s topic, Unlimited Possibilities, I expected that I would share routine thoughts … Continue reading –>

06: Unlimited Possibilities – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 3, 2020 by Corinne KnopperAugust 3, 2020avatar

The title for the quarter immediately brings to mind Hymn 499 – What  A Friend We Have in Jesus. The Sabbath afternoon introduction shows us that God is calling each of us: Hymn 287 – Softly and Tenderly, Hymn 361 – Hark! ‘Tis the Shepherd’s Voice I Hear and Hymn 359 – Hark! The Voice of … Continue reading –>

Hit the Mark – Spirit-Empowered Witnessing

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 30, 2020 by Curtis HallJuly 30, 2020avatar
Companionship

Their mission was simple – find Jesus and ask him a straightforward question. The expected answer would either be yes or no. The reason for this simple question was more complicated. The imprisoned John the Baptist was a believer in Christ. Yet, through the insinuations of others and his misconceptions about the Messiah’s role, doubts … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
