8: Comfort My People -Singing with Inspiration
As the Israelites forgot about God and followed so many other gods and nations, God remained faithful to them, with Isaiah and many other prophets working so hard for God to turn His people around, hence I will choose
Hymn 100 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness as a theme hymn for this quarter. Secondary to this we may use 
Hymn 104 – My Shepherd Will Supply My Need.
The title of this week’s lesson brings us directly back to George F Handel’s, The Messiah. I do hope you are blessed with people in your congregation who may sing No 2 of The Messiah “Comfort Ye My People”. Monday’s Isaiah 40:1-8 will then use No 3 of The Messiah “Ev’ry Valley Shall Be Exalted” as well as No 4 “And the Glory of The Lord”. Tuesday then goes back to “Comfort Ye My People”.
Our Seventh-Day Adventist Hymnal gives us a wonderful choice of hymns this week commencing on Sabbath afternoon with
Hymn 477 – Come, Ye Disconsolate”, then for this time in our world
Hymn 658 – Heavenly Father Hear Our Prayer to give us “Comfort for the Future” (Sunday).
Our spiritual roadwork, repentance, is shown in
Hymn 280 – Come, Ye Sinners.
We are blessed with Isaiah being talked of in
Hymn 131 – Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming.
