1: God Loves Freely – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 30, 2024 by Corinne KnopperDecember 30, 2024avatar

The studies in this quarters pamphlet encourage us to see God’s Love and Justice, just as we may sing in  Hymn 79 – O Love of God, How Strong and True! which is a beautiful theme hymn for our studies. Sabbath afternoon talks of Peter saying three times that he loves Jesus, hence three wonderful hymns … Continue reading –>

Christ weeps as He prays in Gethsemane

At this time of year, we are thinking about the most astounding thing that has ever happened in all of universal history: God “became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). What was the incarnation of God in Christ but the most infinite display of empathy imaginable?! In the person of Jesus Christ, God revealed … Continue reading –>

God's Love and Justice book by John Peckham

God is love. So says 1 John 4:8, 16. The entirety of the Bible testifies to this fact. The Christian faith is centered on God’s character of love. Love is at the core of who God is, at the core of everything that we believe, and should be at the core of everything we do. … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
