Wednesday: By Faith Rahab and the Rest

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 8, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Rahab Hides Spies

Read Hebrews 11:31 and Joshua 2:9-11. Why was Rahab, a pagan prostitute, included in this text of sacred biblical characters? Rahab is probably the most unexpected character whom we find in Hebrews 11:1-40. Rahab is one of two women mentioned by name. She is the tenth in the list, the first being forefathers and patriarchs of Israel, and … Continue reading –>

Key Thought: Hebrews 11 tells us that faith is confidence in God’s promises and how it was obtained through examples of the past. March 12, 2022 1. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 11:1-19. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage. What did these heroes … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: Moses: Believing in the Unseen

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 7, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
The Prince of Egypt

Read Hebrews 11:20-28. What did these men of faith do? How are their actions related to hope and to things not seen? Moses is the second major example in this chapter of faith. The life of Moses is introduced and concluded by two actions of defiance to the king. His parents hid Moses when he was … Continue reading –>

The titles of the thirteen Sabbaths of study this quarter give us two hymns to use as the themes: Hymn 593 – In Times Like These and Hymn 177 – Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness. This weeks study gives us a wonderful Hymnfest as there are SO many hymns from which to choose. The title … Continue reading –>

Monday: By Faith Abraham

Abraham and Isaac - The Sacrifice

Hebrews defines faith as “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, NIV). Then it provides a list of faithful people from the history of Israel who exemplify what faith is, and it shows how they manifested that faith by their deeds. Read Hebrews 11:1-19. What did these “heroes” … Continue reading –>

Sunday: The Righteous Will Live by Faith

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 5, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 6, 2022avatar
Faith

Read Hebrews 10:35-39. What is God saying to us in these verses? Endurance is a characteristic of God’s end-time people, without which they will not be able to receive the promises (Revelation 13:10, Revelation 14:12). In order to endure, however, believers need to “hold fast” their faith (Hebrews 10:23, Hebrews 4:14). Paul has shown that the desert generation was not … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: God Is the Best Witness

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 3, 2022 by Sabbath School LessonFebruary 25, 2022avatar
Anna Likholet

God Is the Best Witness By Anna Likholet At the age of 18, I longed to share Jesus with others. But I was afraid. “I’m scared,” I prayed often. “I don’t know how to share You.” Then I learned that I needed surgery, and I was hospitalized in Tula, a city located about 2 ½ … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
