Friday: Further Thought – Daniel and the End Time

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 12, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonApril 14, 2018avatar
Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: “As we near the close of this world’s history, the prophecies recorded by Daniel demand our special attention, as they relate to the very time in which we are living. With them should be linked the teachings of the last book of the New Testament Scriptures. Satan has led many to believe that the … Continue reading –>

#2 Daniel and the End Time – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 11, 2018 by Joyce GriffithApril 11, 2018Joyce Griffith

Faithful in what is least. The statement of Daniel and the “worthies” taken captive by Babylon revealed an honest and wholehearted trait of these young men. What was it? Do you think the good results in reasoning and intelligence came directly from a good diet–or were they a miracle God sent to bless them? Or … Continue reading –>

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 2: Daniel and the End Time

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 11, 2018 by Corinne KnopperApril 11, 2018avatar

What a joy it was to sing from the pre-1985 hymnal “Standing by a Purpose True (number 497) this last week. Our whole congregation was excited to sing it!! Opening our lesson study for this week immediately suggests to have this hymn sung again: the title, and the Memory Text stated this. It is sad … Continue reading –>

Thursday: The Faithfulness of Daniel

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 11, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonApril 19, 2018avatar
The Faithfulness of Daniel

Read Daniel 6 and then answer the following questions: 1. What does Daniel 6:4-5 reveal about the character of Daniel? What lessons can we take from these verses about how we should be seen? 2. What parallels can we find in this chapter that link it to final events as depicted in the book of Revelation? See Rev. 13:4, Rev. 13:8, Rev. … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Conversion of the Gentiles

Admitting to the Power of God

Daniel 3 ended with Nebuchadnezzar’s acknowledging the existence and power of the true God. But knowledge of God and of His power isn’t the same as having the born-again experience that Jesus said was crucial for salvation (see John 3:7). Indeed, the man depicted in Daniel 4:30 was anything but a converted soul. Read Daniel 4:30. What was this man’s problem? See … Continue reading –>

Two Things I Love About Daniel

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 9, 2018 by William EarnhardtApril 18, 2018avatar

As we take a look at Daniel in this week’s lesson I am reminded that there are a couple of things I love about Daniel, that sometimes get overlooked. When his neck was on the line, I like how Daniel responded when God revealed to him the king’s dream.  Then Daniel went in to see … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: The Golden Image

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 9, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonApril 13, 2018avatar
The Golden Image

Bible students have long noticed the link between Daniel 3, the story of the three Hebrews on the plain of Dura, and Revelation 13, a depiction of the persecution that God’s people have faced in the past and will face in the last days. Compare Daniel 3:1-6 with Revelation 13:11-15. What are the parallels between these two passages? … Continue reading –>

Monday: The Humility of Daniel

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 8, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMay 29, 2018avatar
Through God's power

All over the world, Daniel 2 has helped untold numbers of people come to believe in the God of the Bible. It provides powerfully rational evidence, not only for the existence of God but for His foreknowledge. Indeed, it is the revelation that the chapter provides of God’s foreknowledge that presents evidence for God’s existence. Read Daniel 2. … Continue reading –>

Sunday: Faithful in What Is Least

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 7, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonApril 14, 2018avatar
Faithful id What is Least

“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much” (Luke 16:10, NKJV). Look at the words of Jesus here. It’s so easy, isn’t it, to compromise, to be “unjust in what is least.” The problem isn’t so much … Continue reading –>

Be Ready Always

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 6, 2018 by Linda MkhwanaziJanuary 12, 2019avatar

During an April holiday some years ago, I was house-sitting for Mrs. Brown* (pseudonym for my mother’s employer). Since this was my usual holiday job, I knew the rules around the house. The April holidays in South Africa are very short – just a mini break from school and work. On a Friday evening, a week … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
