01: The Uniqueness of the Bible – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: The Bible is unique in that it comprises 30% prophecy; it speaks of a God who acts in history; Bible events are in real geographical sites, and it has the power to change lives.

1. Have a volunteer read Deuteronomy 32:45-47.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- How does Moses describe the Word of God and its powers in the lives of the Hebrews?
- Personal Application: Why is faith in God and obedience to His word never in vain? How is obedience never a vain thing for you? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “Why should we have so much trust in the Bible and its writings? Did Jesus and the apostles trust in the Old Testament scriptures? How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Daniel 9:24-27.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- How does this text reveal the details of the Messiah’s coming?
- Personal Application: What are all the reasons you can think of for your belief in Jesus and His death for us? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “How do the prophecies of Scripture provide us with hope for the future, even in the context of last-day events?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read I Corinthians 15:51-55..
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What does this passage teach us about the truth of the historical fact of Christ’s resurrection?
- Personal Application: Why is the promise of the resurrection so central to our faith, since we understand the dead are asleep? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “There were many different writers of the Bible; how can we be sure of the veracity of God’s Word?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read John 17:17.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- How does the Bible assure us that it has the power to change our lives and show us the way to salvation?
- Personal Application: Share an experience from your life or a friend’s that testifies to the power of God’ Word to change the life of a person. Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
