1: What Happened? – Singing with Inspiration
The second quarter begins for 2021. Welcome to the Sabbath School lesson studies of The Promise – God’s Everlasting Covenant
Having breezed through the lesson study guide book and checked The Week at a Glance notes, we find God’s covenant is spoke of mostly. Making a simple statement, we find God has made his promises (covenant) with many people in the Bible, and continues to give us promises for today, hence for a theme hymn I find that I wish to keep standing on the Promises that God has given to us all –
Hymn 518 – Standing on the Promises as
My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less – Hymn 522.
Creation is the first study of this quarter. Here are a few hymns about Creation.
Hymn 87 – God Who Spoke in the Beginning,
Hymn 2 – All Creatures of Our God and King,
Hymn 83 – All Things Bright and Beautiful,
Hymn 92 – This is My Father’s World,
Hymn 98 – Can You Count the Stars? And
Hymn 565 – For the Beauty of the Earth
We find out more about our God on Monday:
Hymn 84 – God the Omnipotent. It is then that we sing
Hymn 15 – My Maker and My King.
Tuesday comes back to
Hymn 92 – This is My Father’s World and
Hymn 15 – My Maker and My King. It is then that we are to by replenish the world, subduing it and have mastery over it:
Hymn 561 – We Plow the Fields.
As we are in the image of God, so we find the God’s image stamped on man in
Hymn 97 – Lord of the Boundless Curves of Space (verse 3).
Thursday ends in reminding us
Hymn 214 – We Have This Hope.
To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing, but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
