  1. Thank you ever so much for the link to the “about us” page. Not to overstate the obvious, but I am new to this forum. Joining this forum was a turning point in my thinking. I moved to a different town, and as part of that move I made a commitment to myself to be an active participant in the Sabbath School Lesson Quarterly lessons that I’ve been dutifully sitting through for years in my old church. Not that I haven’t been studying, and researching, just not the SSL topics. Seeing the pictures and reading the bio of the people behind the scenes gives me hope.

The bio’s in the about page was fascinating to read, and I found them to be quite impressive. Admittedly there is a part of me that seems to be envious of such scholastic achievements. What would have been even more impressive is a bio from someone who is, or was, as the secular community would put it, successful in business. I wonder, are business people not interested in contributing, or is there other reasons I don’t read about them here? There always seems to be enough questions to go around, maybe some day I’ll figure it out.

Once again, I am so grateful for this page. Blessings to all of you that work so hard on the SSL.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
