12: Earth’s Closing Events – Teaching Plan
Key Thought: The prophetic messages of Daniel and Revelation are messages to help us through life’s storms. The purpose of Christ’s life, death, resurrection, and ministry in Heaven’s sanctuary is to ensure we get home.

1. Have a volunteer read Proverbs 23:23; John 8:32; 17:17; 2 Peter 1:16-21.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on the most important point in this passage.
- What common thread runs through these verses?
- Personal Application: What assurance does Peter give regarding prophecy? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of you relatives states, “What will give us courage and strength to stand in the final crisis? What distracts us from studying God’s word/ Can we compromise truth for personal pleasure?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 7:1,2; 14:1; 13:16,17.
- Ask class members to share their thoughts on the most important point in this text.
- Where are the seal of God and the mark of the beast received? Why do you think these is a difference?
- Personal Application: Why is daily faithfulness to the Lord the key to preparing for the final crisis? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “How do you know that the Sabbath is the seal of God? What elements of a seal are in the Sabbath commandment? What Scriptures show that the Sabbath is a sign or seal from God?” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read Joel 2:21-24; Acts 2:1-4; 41-47.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- What prediction was fulfilled in the first century? What impact did it have?
- Personal Application: Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states: “How will the work of God on earth be finished? What does it mean by the terms “early rain” and “latter rain”?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 18:1-4; Habbakkuk 2:14; Matthew 24:14.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- How do these verses say that God’s work on earth will be finished?
- Personal Application: What is holding back the mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the latter rain, and the loud cry? How can we be open and receptive to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
