  1. Suggestion: when I was in elementary school 70 years ago, we learned how to read phonic symbols in the bible. Some do not think phonetics is necessary anymore. But I do. It helped us learn to read names in the King James version of the Bible, at least so we english people could sound out greek and hebrew names consistently. Hope this helps.
