3: All Future Generations – Singing with Inspiration
This quarter “The Week at a Glance” shows God’s covenant is spoken of mostly. God has made his promises (covenant) with many people in the Bible, and continues to give us promises for today, hence for a theme hymn I find that I wish to keep standing on the Promises that God has given to us all –
Hymn 518 – Standing on the Promises as
My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less – Hymn 522.
“The Week at a Glance” shows us the amazing grace of God:
Hymn 108 – Amazing Grace and
Hymn 109 – Marvelous Grace as does the memory text. The salvation that comes from this abundant grace for every generation is seen in
Hymn 646 – To the Name That Brings Salvation.
Genesis 6:9 on Monday tells as that Noah walked with God, as we pledge to do today:
Hymn 554 – O Let Me Walk With Thee. Just as Peter says in 2 Peter 2:5, we also want to be guided into righteousness: Hymn 39 – Lord, in the Morning (verse 3).
The mercies sign of the rainbow after the flood is found in
Hymn 17 – Lord of All Being, Throned Afar (verse 3). The promise of the rainbow is seen in
Hymn 76 – O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go (verse 3).
The remnant people will adhere to the Word of The Lord. One aspect of this is the Sabbath in
Hymn 394 – Far From All Care (verse 2). At the end of Thursday we find that
God’s Free Mercy Streameth – Hymn 110.
To learn unknown hymns, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing, but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
