Key Thought: Isaiah saw that after Assyria, Babylon would conquer Judah, but He also saw that God would decisively prevail and bring peace to our troubled planet.

1. Have a volunteer read Isaiah 13:19-22.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- How did the city of Babylon finally end?
- Personal Application: Could God’s wrath stem from His love? If this is true, how could it be? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why does a loving God do these things, or allow them to happen? How do we understand God’s wrath and anger?” How would you respond to your friend?
2. Have a volunteer read Isaiah 14:12-14.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- Could these verses apply to the king of Babylon?
- Personal Application: What is the contrast between the character of God and the character of Satan? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “I don’t think people who are arrogant, proud, and desire supremacy even know that they are. How can you reach someone like that?“ How would you respond to your relative

4. Have a volunteer read Isaiah 24:1-6..

- Does God really destroy the unsaved?
- Personal Application: Why is God’s destruction of the lost called His strange act? Share your thoughts.
