Sabbath afternoon shows that people gather together to learn:
Hymn 8 – We Gather Together, and it is here that we listen to the stories from the Bible so as to learn:
Hymn 152 – Tell Me the Story of Jesus and
Hymn 196 – Tell Me the Old, Old Story
Sunday’s story of the Rabbi and his students reminded me of the
Hymn 210 – Awake, Awake, for Night is Flying. We are then instructed to uplift the cross to see the value and worth of every human being:
Hymn 362 – Lift High the Cross.
Jesus encourages us on Monday in Matt 5:14-16
Let Every Lamp Be Burning Bright – Hymn 595.
To live as Jesus’ disciples (Tuesday), we are to walk with Jesus:
Hymn 251 – He Lives,
Hymn 315 – O for a Closer Walk!,
Hymn 335 – What a Wonderful Savior,
Hymn 456 – My Lord and I,
Hymn 487 – In the Garden,
Hymn 554 – O Let Me Walk With Thee,
Hymn 574 – O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee,
Hymn 590 – Trust and Obey and
Hymn 624 – I Want Jesus to Walk With Me.
Hymn 278 – Lord Jesus Once You Spoke to Men has the story of “Seeking Truth” (Wednesday).
Hymn 324 – Just as I am, Thine Own to Be shows us seeking the truth as does
Hymn 326 – Open My Eyes That I May See as does verse 3 in
Hymn 558 – For the Fruits of His Creation,
Hymn 572 – Give of Your Best to the Master, verse 2 in
Hymn 578 – So Send I You and
Hymn 606 – Once to Every Man and Nation.
Matthew 18:20 (Thursday) tells us to gather together as does
Hymn 8 – We Gather Together. We then learn to share, as in verse 1 of
Hymn 25 – Praise the Lord, His Glories Show,
Hymn 61 – God Is Here, in verse 1 of
Hymn 326 – Open My Eyes That I May See and verse 3 of
Hymn 363 – Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service.
As with all education, we are to learn to
Trust and Obey – Hymn 590.
