Love – Much More Than A Feeling

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 7, 2025 by Tim HeischbergFebruary 18, 2025avatar
Cross of Love, copyright by General Conference

In February, the thoughts of  many turn to “love” in connection with Valentine’s day.  It has become known as a day to share flowers, chocolates, cards, gifts, and loving pleasantries, Quite aside from the day’s questionable history, I ask, do Christians need a day to celebrate love? Isn’t it rather an everyday mandate given to … Continue reading –>

Why I Believe a God of Love Kills

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 26, 2025 by William EarnhardtFebruary 7, 2025avatar

A time to kill, And a time to heal; Ecclesiastes 3:3 NKJV I was having dinner with a friend from church, at the Olive Garden restaurant not far from the church. She was explaining some new and “wonderful” things she was learning about hell from a Christian website. She explained how God does not destroy … Continue reading –>

Godly Passion and Jealousy

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 20, 2025 by William EarnhardtFebruary 5, 2025avatar

The Bible clearly teaches us not to be envious or jealous.  “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s. Genesis 20:17 NKJV  Now the works of the flesh are … Continue reading –>

Because of Love the Universe has a Purpose and You Have a Purpose

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 14, 2025 by William EarnhardtFebruary 5, 2025avatar

Satan’s biggest and most dangerous lie is that you are not loved. Everything hinges on this one Truth and that is that you are loved. If there is no love then there is no purpose not only for you but for the entire universe. This is why babies born prematurely need to be held. Love gives purpose to survive.

How far Will God go to Keep a Promise?

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 7, 2025 by William EarnhardtJanuary 14, 2025avatar
teacher, learning, school

There is a saying, “kids who are loved at home come to school to learn. Kids who are not loved at home come to school to be loved.” Is it any different in Sabbath School? Is it also true that God’s children (ages 0-125) who know they are loved come to Sabbath school to learn, … Continue reading –>

Behold the God Who Weeps!

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 28, 2024 by Ty GibsonDecember 30, 2024Ty Gibson
Christ weeps as He prays in Gethsemane

At this time of year, we are thinking about the most astounding thing that has ever happened in all of universal history: God “became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). What was the incarnation of God in Christ but the most infinite display of empathy imaginable?! In the person of Jesus Christ, God revealed … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 23, 2024 by William EarnhardtJanuary 2, 2025avatar

Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when … Continue reading –>

They Called Her a Whore. Jesus Called Her a “Woman”

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV He told her he loved her. Said she was beautiful. Promised her she would be special. Next thing she knew she was being dragged out of … Continue reading –>

He Entered Into Our DNA

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 6, 2024 by Tim HeischbergDecember 16, 2024avatar
The Cross

Many feel depressed during the holidays because they don’t have the means, or the family to meet the societal expectations that come with them, but the Advent season  isn’t about giving gifts. It is about receiving the greatest and costliest Gift ever given.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
