9: Be Who You Are – Discussion starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 23, 2017 by Joyce GriffithMay 27, 2017Joyce Griffith

A precious faith. What is precious about the faith that Christ gives us? How long could we survive without that faith? For how much of that time would we be happy? How do we learn to love God? What are the elements of faith that make it possible to love Him? Can you and I, sinful … Continue reading –>

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 9

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 23, 2017 by Corinne KnopperJune 2, 2017avatar

A Precious Faith is obtained as a gift from God, says Sunday’s study, making one realise that we all would like to have such a faith. Hymn 533 – “O for a Faith” will enhance this sentiment. 2 Peter 1:4 raises Hymn 518 – “Standing on the Promises” as a reminder to all of the … Continue reading –>

8: Jesus in the Writings of Peter – Discussion starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 17, 2017 by Joyce GriffithMay 17, 2017Joyce Griffith

Peter’s Love for Jesus. No doubt you remember reading in the Bible the story of Peter’s reprehensible attitude when he spat out the words (NIV), “I don’t know Him,” and, a little later when he grumped, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” in reference to his association with Jesus. Now, centuries later, we remember … Continue reading –>

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 8

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 17, 2017 by Corinne KnopperMay 17, 2017avatar

The whole of this week’s lesson study brings out the beautiful Hymn 489, (or tune in 490), “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” as the basis of the study time. “The overarching theme” in the Bible reveals the work of God in Hymn 373, “Seeking The Lost”. Sunday’s study paints this picture clearly for us, and … Continue reading –>

Servant Leadership – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 9, 2017 by Michael FrackerAugust 29, 2017Michael Fracker

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 7

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 7, 2017 by Corinne KnopperAugust 24, 2020avatar

The lesson title immediately brought to mind Hymn 537, “He Leadeth Me”. The Memory Text in 1 Peter 5:7 gives us instructions just as much as does Hymn 181 “Does Jesus Care?” which first questions us, then answers our questions of the Saviour’s love and care for us. 1 Tim 5:17 speaks of leadership in … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
