Welcome to the third quarter’s study time which is all about The Book Of Mark. It is wonderful to travel through John Mark’s life and see the beautiful story climax with  Christ The Lord Is Risen Today – Hymn 166, therefore Go, Preach My Gospel – Hymn 378. These two hymns give us a purpose … Continue reading –>

Paul and Barnabas Disagree

Daily Lesson for Monday 1st of July 2024 Read Acts 15:36-39. Why did Paul reject John Mark, and why did Barnabas give him a second chance? The reason for Paul’s rejection of the young man is given in Acts 15:38. Mark had withdrawn from them and had not continued in the work of ministry. Paul’s … Continue reading –>

John Mark Returns to Jerusalem

Daily Lesson for Sunday 30th of June 2024 Read Acts 12:12. How is Mark introduced in the book of Acts? It seems probable that John Mark, the most likely author of the Gospel of Mark, was a young man when the events in Acts 12:1-25 occurred, probably in the A.D. mid-40s. He is introduced in … Continue reading –>

The Gospel of Mark

The Apostle Mark Writing

From the beginning of Mark, the reader knows who Jesus is–the Messiah, the Son of God (Mark 1:1). However, people in the story struggle with understanding just who He is and what He is all about–except for those with demons. They know exactly who He is! The demons recognize Him and wither before His mighty … Continue reading –>

Listen to Love Under Fire

Love Under Fire - Condensation of The Great Controversy by Ellen White

When Peter Dunne mentioned listening to Love Under Fire, I checked Youtube for a reading of Love Under Fire (since it’s easy to play on a smart TV), and I found this play list of the modern version of the “Conflict of the Ages” series in modern English. Love Under Fire begins with Video #133 (audio only). Unfortunately … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
