11: Stewardship and Mission — Hope Sabbath School Video Discussion — 3 Comments

  1. Thank you Sabbath School team for your great sharing this morning.Your sharing has helped me as a member of the church to understand the concept of generosity by listening than by reading. Listening brings the message more alive to me. Yes, I thank God for your team. Do pray for me and my family. I have a son who is agnostic about our faith, and he is so attached to his games online. I do want God to reach out to his life and bring his mind back to Jesus. I also have a son younger who is in Yr 12 and I want him to see God in a clear way that God can make things possible. He is struggling with time management. Please pray for my family, I have 5 children and a grandson.
I also have a daughter who I want her to really know who God is. And when she knows God, she would know what God wants in her life. Lastly, I have this thing in school. By the way, I am a high school teacher. Last week I was called to step in for 2 days to substitute 2 teachers that were absent. Well, I just accepted the instructions because I knew I had no choice. but to be honest, I was not angry. I willingly accpeted it. However, my friends were not happy with what I did. They were whispering to me that when my duty comes, which will be this week, I will tell them to step in for the days I substituted. Anyways, I wrote in our Viber group to my leader that those teachers should step in. N

Now after hearing this on generosity, I was so much convinced that God is telling me that what I did was wrong. I stepped in without being angry. So here I learnt that out of generosity, I am willing to do my own duty during my week. And those teachers, I will say, it is my free will to help them. I thank God for opening my mind this morning.

Thank you once more. May God continue to pour wisdom upon your team.

    Blessed Sabbath.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
