Sunday: A Cosmic Struggle

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 18, 2020 by Sabbath School LessonJuly 17, 2020avatar
Cosmic Conflict

Compare Revelation 12:7-9, Ephesians 6:12, and 2 Corinthians 10:4. How do these passages influence our understanding of intercessory prayer? The Bible lifts the veil between the seen and the unseen world. There is a struggle between good and evil, between the forces of righteousness and the forces of darkness, between Christ and Satan. In this cosmic conflict, God … Continue reading –>

Sabbath: Prayer Power ~ Interceding for Others

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 17, 2020 by Sabbath School LessonJuly 17, 2020avatar
Man praying

Sabbath Afternoon Read for This Week’s Study: Rev. 12:7-9, Eph. 6:12, Heb. 7:25, Eph. 1:15-21, Dan. 10:10-14, 1 John 5:14-16. Memory Text: “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16, NKJV). The New Testament church members felt their need of prayer. “And when … Continue reading –>

Friday: Further Thought ~ Seeing People Through Jesus’ Eyes

Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: Read Ellen G. White, “The Gospel in Samaria”, pages 103-111, in The Acts of the Apostles. All around us people are seeking for the things of eternity. As Jesus so aptly put it, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matt. 9:37, NKJV). The problem was not with the harvest. With eyes divinely … Continue reading –>

The Salt of the Earth

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 16, 2020 by William EarnhardtJuly 22, 2020avatar

Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. John 17:18 NLT How did the Father send Jesus into the world? Did He send Him to a monastery where He spent all His time alone making sure He never came in contact with the world? No. The Father sent … Continue reading –>

Thursday: Sensing Providential Opportunities

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 15, 2020 by Sabbath School LessonJuly 11, 2020avatar
Woman looking through doorway in a Bible

The book of Acts is filled with stories of how the disciples took advantage of providential opportunities for the advancement of God’s kingdom. From one end of the book to the other, we read fascinating accounts of the early church and how it grew, even despite the challenges it faced both internally and externally. In 2 … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Dealing With Difficult People

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 14, 2020 by Sabbath School LessonJuly 11, 2020avatar
One man witnessing to another

Jesus was a master at dealing with difficult people. By both His words and actions, He demonstrated acceptance. He listened sensitively to their concerns, raised questions, and gradually revealed divine truths. He recognized the inner longing in the most hardened hearts and saw potential in the vilest sinners. For Jesus, no one was beyond the … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: Begin Where You are

Two women studying the Word

Someone has rightly said, “In life the only place to start from is where you are, for there is no other place to begin”. Jesus emphasized this principle in Acts 1:8 (NKJV), where He declared, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in … Continue reading –>

03: Seeing People Through Jesus Eyes – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 12, 2020 by Corinne KnopperJuly 12, 2020avatar

03: Seeing People Through Jesus Eyes – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 12, 2020 by Joyce GriffithJuly 15, 2020Joyce Griffith

Start where you are.  You may be a fully trained literature evangelist. Or a wife and mother with three wiggly pre-school youngsters at home with you. Or, the book of Mark may lie open on your desk as you pray for courage to walk through the neighborhood. Jesus, the master soul winner, is by your … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
