Sabbath School Net Posted on August 21, 2016 by Joyce GriffithAugust 27, 2016Joyce Griffith

What an Example! The opening note for our lesson this week describes a heart-lifting example of a woman believer in Africa being a minister for her community stricken by AIDS. Sabbath School Net Posted on August 10, 2016 by Curtis HallAugust 13, 2016avatar

I suspect there is nothing in this lesson that we don’t already know. That’s not a bad thing. It is good to be reminded of truths we hold dear. It’s good to reexamine the stories of the Bible that illustrate the love and compassion of Christ. What is troubling is that we often have difficulty putting what … Continue reading –>

Memory text. “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often I would have gathered they children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wing, and ye would not!” Matthew 23:37. And behold, a pea plant flourished in the garden and brought forth a beautiful pod with three peas in it. In the fullness of time, the wind blew and the pea pod fell to the ground and split open, spilling the peas onto the dirt. Sepia-tone image of the good shepherd reaching for a lost sheep

He saw something no one else saw. In those despised by society, He saw royalty – Sons and daughters of God. Though far away from Him, they were loved, cherished and not forgotten. He heard something that no one else heard. He heard the heart cries of publicans and sinners when no one cared enough to … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
