Daniel and the End Time

Key Thought: The example of Jesus as a human is a challenging model for the Christian, especially the Adventist who lives in the end time.
1. Have a volunteer read Daniel 2:40-43.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- How does this chapter provide such convincing evidence for the reality and existence of God?
- Personal Application : What does the cross teach us about humility? What would we be without the cross? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study : One of your relatives states: “How could a man who lived over two thousand years ago described so accurately the future of nations other than through Divine Revelation?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Daniel 3:15-18.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What are the characteristics of true worship and false worship? Does music play a part in false worship?
- Personal Application: When the issue of worship arises in the last days, how can we be sure that we will stand as faithfully as these three did? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study : One of your friends states, “How can people like our church members be ready to face loss of jobs, houses, food, even life itself when they can’t be faithful even in the smallest things they face everyday?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Daniel 4:30-34.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What was the king’s biggest problem? Why is it so abhorrent to God?
- Personal Application: Have you ever let your pride get in your way that may have caused you problems? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “How could a man lose his mind for seven years and just go back to sanity in an instant? That doesn’t make sense. That’s not normal. How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Daniel 6:4,5.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- Do you believe people will be intent on finding fault against you in the future because you are a Seventh-day Adventist Christian?
- Personal Application If people were to watch you closely, could they find anything against you except your faithfulness in your religion? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study : Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
