Monday: The New Covenant — 19 Comments

  1. We can look forward to unite with Jesus in His kingdom with great expectation as we commune daily with him

  2. The new covenant, Jesus Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. We who are not able to save ourselves need the Lamb of God which taketh away our sins.(john 1 vs 29). Our blessed hope is solely in the Lamb of God. We need to partake of his body and his blood as symbols of our faith. Christ promised to be with us at his Father\'s kingdom. He reignited the hope in us and though faced with death on the cross, we are more than conquerors.

  3. Indeed the Lord Supper is a precious service, which reminds us how important it is to be of service to one another. We also see in this service that as sure as Jesus came to die for us in His first coming, so sure it is that He will come to complete His work, taking those He has redeemed home!

    Hebrews 9:28King James Version (KJV)

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

    • A peeson who accepts Jesus as a personal saviour receives eternal life by faith. The person receives the Holy Spirit who renews his life in Christ, enabling victory over sin and changing ungodly tendencies into holy actions. The person will grow to the full stature of a true Christian under God's guidance and will meet Jesus in the air, when He comes again.

      • Hebrews 9:28 "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."

  4. The Lord's Super provides a great blessing to all sinners - the remission of sins as we come to Christ and partake of His body and blood. He said in John 6:35, "I am the bread of life." As such when we take and eat bread we partake of His grace. The drinking of His blood represented by pure grape juice is a kind of event indulged for the purpose of a close and unending bond of intimacy. The service is commemorative in that it reminds us of the release of Israel from Egypt. At the same time it is pointing to a much greater deliverance to come. "That deliverance was typical of the great atonement which Christ made by the sacrifice of His own life for the final deliverance of His people." (Spiritual Gifts 3:228)

  5. Jesus assured his disciples of victory over death and of their future with him.they would experience the power of the holy spirit and witness the great spread of the gospel message.and one day they would all be together again in God's new kingdom

  6. Jesus promised us in Mathew to have a drink with us in his father's Kingdom! It's a great thing but what I would like you help me it's to understand deeply the significance of it.
Because now we drink as a memorial so what it will represent in heaven? Good night for every blessed son of the living God

  7. I do believe that the deeper meaning of withholding drinking grape juice with His chosen is no more mysterious than for us to have something to look forward to when we get to heaven. No I am not at all implicating Christ holding a carrot out for us. Salvation does not work like that. But when I partake in Communion service quartly in church and daily with my personal devotion, it reminds me He died for me. I won't have to experience the second death. He sayin I will save a special toast of you choosing Me, you redemption and His deliverence.
I love this, read on, this is what we get for rmembering Him represented by the grape juice and the bread.
"He who beholds the Saviour’s matchless love will be elevated in thought, purified in heart, transformed in character. He will go forth to be a light to the world, to reflect in some degree this mysterious love. The more we contemplate the cross of Christ, the more fully shall we adopt the language of the apostle when he said, “God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”" Galatians 6:14. DA 661.3

  8. Jesus said, "do this in remembrance of me" when we partake in the holy communion with bread and wine, however, I don't see the foot washing as part of Jesus command to remember Him.

  9. If people can reserve wine bottle for years, only openning them after an event has occurred. How great it will for us to share with Jesus after such a long period of time. I think it should be something that we think about day an night.

  10. May we always remind ourselves of the great sacrifice that was performed for us undeserving sinners and may we by all means consecrate our lives to him who is our Lord and saviour.
