Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 1: Paul Apostle to the Gentiles
Saul of Tarsus was fighting for his faith, although misguided by his spiritual blindness (Tuesday’s lesson study) until, “finally on his way to Damascus, through a miraculous encounter with the risen Jesus, Saul chose to fight no longer” (Monday’s lesson study). Instead he went on to become Paul and now he did as in Hymn 613, “Fight the Good Fight”.
Wednesday has the Gospel going to the Gentiles in the then-known world: Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel”, or Hymn 368, “Watchman, Blow the Gospel Trumpet”. It then became a task for Paul to go forth and “Rescue the Perishing”- Hymn 367.
Thursday’s lesson study brings out the positive thought of Peter baptizing Cornelius into a new life: Hymn 258, “Baptize Us Anew”.
May we have a great faith that will lead us on into the Kingdom of Heaven when Jesus comes again – very soon. May your faith never shrink, no matter the Conflict Within the Church (Thursday’s lesson study) – Hymn 533, “O for a Faith”, and Hymn 602, “O Brother, Be Faithful”.
