Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 5: Stewards After Eden
As a Church, we are entrusted with the gospel, says our memory text. Here are two hymns that encourage us:
Hymn 368, “Watchman, Blow the Gospel Trumpet” and
Hymn 378, “Go, Preach My Gospel”.
There are just a few hymns that have the word ‘steward’ or ‘stewardship’ in them:
Hymn 637, “Son of God, Eternal Savior” in verse 3
Hymn 639, “A Diligent and Grateful Heart” in verse 3
Hymn 640, “For Beauty of Meadows” in verse 2, and
Hymn 641, “God in His Love for Us”.
One of these may become your theme-song for the rest of this quarter
Sunday shows there is a lot of trust between the owner and the steward:
Hymn 524, “Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus”,
Hymn 535, “I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus” and
Hymn 590, “Trust and Obey”
The mysteries of God (Tuesday) are in:
Hymn 97, “Lord of the Boundless Curves of Space”. We find that salvation is supernatural and impossible for us to understand fully;
Hymn 646, “To the Name That Brings Salvation”.
Redemption is a large part of the study on Wednesday:
Hymn 329, “Take the World, but Give Me Jesus”;
Hymn 34, “Wake the Song”has this in verse 3; and, in:
Hymn 341, “To God Be the Glory”. verse 2.
Mark 8:36, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Thank you so much for sharing these hymns each week! They are great to use in devotion, along with the Sabbath School lesson. It would be really useful if the hymns were hyperlinked to the church hymnal. Is this possible?
Thank you for your kind comment Marsha. It is possible to do the linking, but please bear in mind that all of us who work on the Sabbath School Net site are volunteer workers and consequently have other responsibilities outside of SSNET. As the one who would have to do the linking, I think Carmel, my wife, might complain if I let the lawns grow too long.
Thanks for answering my question, Maurice. I certainly appreciate the work that all the volunteers put into making this such an amazing website. I am all for happy marriages and homes, so I certainly would not want Carmel to feel the need to complain! I will go the extra mile and search the hymns myself!:) God bless and keep up the great work!
