Sabbath School Net Posted on September 4, 2026 by William EarnhardtSeptember 4, 2026avatar

We live in a culture that tells us to ignore or get rid of negative feelings, but sometimes we need to feel bad so we can repent and be led to a greater joy without regrets.

Stewardship and Mission – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on September 8, 2026 by Robert NohrSeptember 8, 2026Robert Nohr

Note: Adult learners (vs. kid learners) typically share several characteristics. Adult learners compare what they are studying to their rich reservoir of life experience. They are typically most interested in learning that relates to immediate, practical challenges that they are facing. And, they bring a high degree of autonomy to the “how” of how they … Continue reading –>

Introduction: Is giving to others a matter of simple math? I give you five dollars and therefore I am five dollars poorer and you are five dollars richer. The Bible teaches that giving makes us richer, not poorer. And you hear that message all the time from ministries who want your money. What you do … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on September 7, 2026 by Corinne KnopperSeptember 7, 2026avatar

Oh, the beauty of studying this quarter’s lessons. We will learn so much of the Love of God (and our Saviour, Jesus) which stands out in so many pages of this quarter. Trying to choose just one hymn for the Theme Hymn was almost impossible, but these ones stood out all through the lesson pamphlet … Continue reading –>

Drawing of a Heart

As this week’s Sabbath School lesson reminds us, we have the privilege of advancing the Kingdom of God by giving our time and our offerings. I thought it would be a good opportunity to share the In Light of the Cross Study Guide on Giving in Light of the Cross.  Brief overview: God tells us … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
