Video: The Resurrection Versus Spiritualism

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 16, 2026 by William EarnhardtAugust 17, 2026avatar

Spiritualism is gaining momentum. Even in Adventist circles, I have seen Adventists on Facebook wishing their dead loved ones a “happy heavenly birthday.” This concerns me, as we know spiritualism will be one of the great deceptions in the last days. The Bible still remains plain about the state of the dead and the resurrection … Continue reading –>

Paul Calms the crowd

Daily Lesson for Monday 24th of August 2026 Yesterday, we learned that Paul’s love for the Corinthians was made manifest in that he comforted them in their hardships, just as he received comfort from God in his (2 Corinthians 1:1-11). Today, we will see that his love for them was also displayed through the integrity … Continue reading –>

9. Love-driven Ministry – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 23, 2026 by Robert NohrAugust 23, 2026Robert Nohr

Read the memory text (2 Cor 2:4). There is clearly a conflict between Paul and the Corinthians, and Paul repeatedly says that the context of the conflict is his deep love for the Corinthian church. Why is conflict an inevitable feature of true love between people?  Can you share an example of a time you … Continue reading –>

"Come Unto Me" by Lars Justinen at GoodSalt.com

Daily Lesson for Sunday 23rd of August 2026 Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-7. What is the reason for Paul’s attitude of thanksgiving here? Paul’s thankfulness focuses on the comfort that God provides for those who are suffering. In this passage, the verb parakaleō (to comfort) and the noun paraklēsis (comfort) occur together ten times. This represents … Continue reading –>

Spectacles on Bible

Daily Lesson for Friday 21st of August 2026 Further Thought: Read Ellen G. White, “God’s People Delivered,” Pages 635–652, in The Great Controversy.   “The divinity of Christ is the believer’s assurance of eternal life. ‘He that believeth in Me,’ said Jesus, ‘though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth … Continue reading –>

8. The Power of Christ’s Resurrection – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 20, 2026 by Robert NohrAugust 23, 2026Robert Nohr

While numerous religious traditions express a belief in some kind of future life beyond earthly death, Christianity alone binds this belief to the witness of people who reported seeing a specific individual, Jesus Christ, alive again, after having seen him die. (When Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he specifically said that the risen Jesus had … Continue reading –>

Christ's Return

Daily Lesson for Thursday 20th of August 2026 Read 1 Corinthians 15:54-57. What does this passage tell us about our ultimate victory over death? Paul begins the last paragraph in 1 Corinthians 15:1-58 with an intriguing statement: “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 15:50, NKJV). Many Bible readers use this … Continue reading –>

The Resurrection

Daily Lesson for Wednesday 19th of August 2026 In 1 Corinthians 15:35-39, Paul turns to a brief discourse on the resurrected body. He begins this section by positing two questions: “ ‘How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?’ ” (1 Corinthians 15:35, NKJV). These questions are answered in 1 … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
