Video: The Resurrection Versus Spiritualism

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 16, 2026 by William EarnhardtAugust 17, 2026avatar

Spiritualism is gaining momentum. Even in Adventist circles, I have seen Adventists on Facebook wishing their dead loved ones a “happy heavenly birthday.” This concerns me, as we know spiritualism will be one of the great deceptions in the last days. The Bible still remains plain about the state of the dead and the resurrection … Continue reading –>

The Resurrection

Daily Lesson for Wednesday 19th of August 2026 In 1 Corinthians 15:35-39, Paul turns to a brief discourse on the resurrected body. He begins this section by positing two questions: “ ‘How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?’ ” (1 Corinthians 15:35, NKJV). These questions are answered in 1 … Continue reading –>

Introduction: Logical arguments have a certain structure. That structure requires at least one premise, and more often two, before you can reach a conclusion. Here is an example. Murray is a grasshopper. All grasshoppers are insects. Therefore, Murray is an insect. The conclusion is that Murray is an insect, and the essential premises are that … Continue reading –>

The Meaning of Baptism

Daily Lesson for Tuesday 18th of August 2026 If Jesus were not alive, any expectation about the future would be only delusion (1 Corinthians 15:12-19). “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead” (1 Corinthians 15:20, ESV). His resurrection is a historical event. Consequently, we can be sure that all who have died … Continue reading –>

8: The Power of Christ’s Resurrection — Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 16, 2026 by Corinne KnopperAugust 16, 2026avatar

Oh, the beauty of studying this quarter’s lessons. We will learn so much of the Love of God (and our Saviour, Jesus) which stands out in so many pages of this quarter. Trying to choose just one hymn for the Theme Hymn was almost impossible, but these ones stood out all through the lesson pamphlet … Continue reading –>

Christ Risen From the Tomb

Daily Lesson for Monday 17th of August 2026 In 1 Corinthians 15:9-19, Paul explains how severe and dreadful the consequences of denying the Resurrection are. Without the Resurrection, believers have no hope in the present, much less in the future. Read 1 Corinthians 15:9-19. What do we lose if Christ has not been raised? By … Continue reading –>

This opening prepares the reader … Continue reading –>

Discussion Starters – A Portrait of Love

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 14, 2026 by Robert NohrAugust 14, 2026Robert Nohr

We have all been taught that faith is a gift from God. Due to our fallen nature, God must offer “prevenient grace” first, to enable our response of faith. What about love? Do you think of it as a similar theological virtue that cannot be exercised by natural human effort alone? Why or why not? … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
