At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.
Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)
If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
This Man!
Maybe I’m prejudiced because I’ve followed Shawn Boonstra’s journey since he preached his first prophecy evangelism series in Surrey, British Columbia. I thought he was barely out of his teens, though he must have been much older. 😉
He and Jean have done some amazing things with the Voice of Prophecy ministry.
He currently produces a series of talks appropriately headlined as “Authentic,” and “authentic” is a good way to describe Shawn. You can check out the series on the Voice of Prophecy site or on Youtube.
I was pleased to discover that he had written this quarter’s lessons. And Erick Flickinger’s interviews with him promise to be rewarding. Do take a look!
I would also love to see what you think.😊
I just love Shawn’s down to earth refreshing Bible based approach to prophecy. What is to many people an incomprehensible and/or complex shut door. I certainly look forward to enjoying this Quarter’s lessons and the iiw weekly interviews.
