I Need Thee Every Hour — 4 Comments

  1. I understand what you’re saying about being intentional with your time, though I think for some people that perspective can be a burden. If you are very scrupulous, as some of us are, down time or taking a break can become something wrong. I don’t think the most scheduled and active people are always the most spiritual.

With your example, it probably isn’t the best to read dark articles but in your case you weren’t seeking them out. In fact you were reading about good things when you found them. I may be wrong, but I don’t think it’s the articles that are the problem as much as one’s attitude toward them. There are dark things in history, the news and life in general. We can’t avoid them, but we can relate to them through a God-oriented perspective which I feel is most important. (In saying this, I am not suggesting that we should fill our lives with a diet of less than wholesome things – not at all, but when we do come across such things approach them from God’s perspective).

    • Thank you Christina. I agree with you. There are dark things we need to be aware of. The Bible even talks about dark things. But we don’t want to spend too much time on those things, and what is too much time may vary from person to person based on how the information affects them. Philippians 4:8.
