Sabbath: The Creator Speaks

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds” (Hebrews 1:1-2, NKJV).
Digital technology allows many of us to see friends and relatives in faraway places. This is fine. But, still, how much better to meet in person! There is something special that happens when we get together, exchange hugs, and talk face-to-face.
This week we will be reminded that human beings were created for a face-to-face relationship with their Creator. Sin, however, destroyed this intimate connection long ago. To restore that communication with His beloved creatures, God has provided ways to speak to us. His most recognized form of divine interaction with humankind is carefully chosen spokespersons, known as prophets, who reveal His messages to us. These prophets often have writings in the Bible, but not always.
God’s ultimate plan is to restore His image in us, the image that sin has shattered. This is what the plan of salvation is about: restoration, a restoration that will be complete when God creates “new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:13, NKJV).
Until then, God still talks to us, and He still uses His prophets to do just that.

There is an interesting story about Ellen White from the early 1900s where Prescott and others conflicted over a particular issue. Ellen White was asked for her thoughts on the matter, and after some time returned the response that she had not received any light on the matter.
It is a reminder that prophets do not produce on demand. The Urim and Thummim were lost in the Babylonian captivity and not replaced. Sometimes God wants to communicate in different ways.
Perhaps we should remind ourselves, as we begin this study on the Spirit of Prophecy, that prophets are people, not icons or oracles. I will leave that rather enigmatic statement as something to consider this quarter.
It is not easy to prove the events of the creation story scientifically, However the good news is that we do not have to. The Bible and science are not working toward the same objectives. Science seeks to investigate and explain the natural world through observation and evidence, while Scripture seeks to reveal who created that world, why it exists, and our relationship with its Creator. After the Fall, humanity’s direct fellowship with God was broken because of sin. Yet, as Romans 8:19–22 reminds us, creation itself continues to declare the glory of the God who made it. The created order bears witness to His existence and makes humanity accountable to Him. What is clear, however, is that knowledge of God’s existence through creation alone cannot bring salvation. The God who speaks through His creation has also made a way for humanity to be reconciled to Him through the person of His Son, Jesus Christ—the One by whom, through whom, and for whom all things were made (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16). Creation points us to the Creator; the Gospel reveals the way back to Him.
Many of the Old Testament prophecies pointed to the coming of the Messiah and to God’s work of salvation. Sadly, to a significant extent, many of those who were meant to be the beneficiaries of these promises failed to recognise their fulfilment when the Messiah came. Even Jesus’ own disciples did not fully understand what was happening until much later (Luke 24:19–21). Today, the major unfulfilled prophecies of Scripture point forward to the second coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Like Israel of old, who failed to recognise the time of the Lord’s first coming, may we therefore be sober, watchful, and spiritually prepared. After professing to be followers of Jesus Christ for many years, how tragic it would be to stand before Him and hear those dreadful words: “I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.” (Matthew 7:23, NLT).
The lesson we have just completed in the Third Quarter—1 and 2 Corinthians—has reminded us that the gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of prophecy, are absolutely empty if they are not accompanied by godly character and a life surrendered to Christ. Let us therefore remember from the onset that the gift of prophecy is not an end in itself; rather, it is a means through which God communicates His messages of truth and salvation to humanity. It is not enough to possess spiritual gifts, speak about prophecy, understand biblical mysteries, or profess faith in Christ. What ultimately matters are whether our lives reflect the character of Christ.
“So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” (Matthew 24:42–44, NLT)
Yes Our Creator speaks through His prophets. In 1 Corinthians 13:2, we find that we can have the gift of prophecy yet not have love then it is nothing. I do believe that we can have the gift of telling others of the prophecy of God’s prophets if we have love. Are not we all ministers in a broad sense of the word? Yes. Though when we tell others we become amateur teachers and the Bible says God holds us at a higher standard. That’s why we don’t let our feelings get hurt if we are corrected if we do make mistakes. That should not keep us though from sharing our faith which may come to discussion about our 16th belief, which is participating in the Lord’s supper and ordience of humility coming up every quarter.
Welcome from the Sabbath my dear brethren,am hambled,greatful to have yet another blessing to study the spirit of prophecy for the next 13-weeks , when we view from our standpoint as the remnant church,this is one of the strongest ideal character,as God foretold this in joel 2:28,we are living in the last days indeed and in a fast growing digitalized world so there is vital role we have to play in preaching the three Angel’s messages guided by the holy scriptures and the spirit of prophecy Iwish you the best of this study May the Lord Jesus Christ be with us until he returns back.
