02: Every Member Ministry – Teaching Plan
Key Thought : As members of the body of Christ, each of us has a personal ministry in the sharing of what He has done for us, and a responsibility to support the local and worldwide work of evangelism.
[Teaching plan for “Every Member Ministry” April 9, 2012]
1. Have a volunteer read 2 Corinthians 5:17-20.
A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. What does it mean to have the word of reconciliation or the ministry of reconciliation?
C. Personal Application: Do you consider yourself an ambassador of Christ? How are you an ambassador of Christ?
D. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “When you become a Christian, what old things passed away? What things become new? What difference does being a Christian mean to you?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read John 4:35-38.
A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. How can we reap among so many people who have never heard of us, who already belong to a Christian church, or who don’t want to hear what we have to share?
C. Personal Application: How many chances did you have this week to plant a few seeds that some day could reap a harvest? Do you think there are opportunities you missed? Share.
D. Case Study: One of your friends states, ”Jesus said the fields were ripe for harvest, yet the SDA church isn’t harvesting very much. Is it because there aren’t enough reapers; the message was for the apostles age and not our time; it was meant for general Christianity, but not the SDA church; or because we are not working together in harmony to bring in the harvest?” How would you respond to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read I Thessalonians 1:5-9.
A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.

D. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “.” How do you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Acts 14:27,28.

B. How important is gaining personal experience in sharing the truth with others? What benefits are there from sharing experiences with fellow church members?.
C. Personal Application: How can we share our mission stories to encourage
Others without being accused of self-centeredness or bragging? Why do
People get upset at other’s stories of success?
D. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this
week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with
them.
