[Teaching plan for A Perpetual Ministry  June 25, 2012]

1. Have a volunteer read Acts 2:42.

A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. What is the importance of fellowship among believers? Where is the linbe between spiritual and social fellowship?
C. Personal Application: Is there more frequent contact and fellowship with church members than with those outside the church? What are the positives and negatives of focusing just on church members? Share.
D. Case Study: One of your relatives states, “How easy or hard is it for new members to be included in the family of the church? Does the church have an intentional focus on establishing new members in their faith?” How would you respond to your relative?

2. Have a volunteer read 2 Timothy 2:1-4.

A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. What can we do to help new believers find their place in working for Christ?
C. Personal Application: Has anyone ever training you to witness? Have you ever been asked to train someone else? Share.
D. Case Study: One of your friends states, “There is not much discipling in the church and not much witnessing either. Most people don’t know what we believe or what we stand for. We live our lives entangled in the affairs of this life.” How would you respond to your friend?

3. Have a volunteer read 2 Corinthians 5:18-20.

A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. How can we reach those who have become disillusioned or estranged from the church? Share..
C. Personal Application: Is there any one person with whom you could reestablish contact and resume friendship and seek to reconnect them with the church?
D. Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “I think the best way not to lose church members is to be ministers to one another while they are in the church. Why wait until they leave to call, visit, and pray for them? We need to be more encouraging in church. Do you tend to agree or disagree with your neighbor?” How do you respond to your neighbor?

4. Have a volunteer read Hebrews 10:25.

A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
B. Why is it important that believers meet together regularly and not miss church functions and services?
C. Personal Application: Is it important to attend Sabbath School and Prayer Meeting as Worship Service? Why or why not? Share.
D. Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
