Adam and Jesus – Lesson Plan
Key Thought: Paul contrasts Adam and Jesus, showing that by faith the victims of Adam’s sin could be rescued by Jesus the Savior.
1. Have a volunteer read Romans 5:6-10.

b. What does it mean to be reconciled by Christ’s death and saved by His life?
c. Personal Application : What is the one thing you hope for more than anything else? Can that hope be fulfilled in Christ? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your relatives states: “This seems to make sin out to be a really bad thing. Everybody sins, so it can’t be all that bad, can it?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Romans 5:12.
a. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
b. What did Satan and Adam do to cause humanity to fall into sin, suffering, and death?
c. Personal Application : What has been your experience with the tragedy and reality of death? Share your thoughts.
d. Case Study : One of your friends states, “Adam’s sin was passed to everyone. So we are born with original sin. If a baby dies before being baptized, he can’t go to heaven because of original sin. That’s why we baptize babies and encourage everyone to be baptized into the universal church.” How would you respond to your friend?
