Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 1: The Influence of Materialism
Welcome to 2018 and the study of “The Life of a Christian Steward” in our first quarters Lesson studies.
To go against the grain of the beliefs and practices of this world, we may make our theme song
Hymn 316, “Live Out Thy Life Within Me”.
With this in place, Jesus’ love will shine to all those we meet.
In Deuteronomy 8:10-14 on Monday, we are asked not “to forget the Lord your God”. We may remember this by singing
Hymn 317, “Lead Me to Calvary”.
Tuesday shows us that our eyes are the lamp of the body. We may ask the Lord for help in
Hymn 595, “Let Every Lamp Be Burning Bright” and
Hymn 326, “Open My Eyes That I May See” and then
Hymn 426 “I Shall See the King” – .
To refrain from the “Love of Self” on Wednesday, an apt hymn is
Hymn 570, “Not I, But Christ”.
God’s blessings to you in this, the first week of the new year of 2018.
Mark 8:36: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
