Jesus, Really? A Humble Little Child Is the Greatest? — 5 Comments

  1. William, Looking down on little children is a lesson in humility. Jesus had a definite purpose in using the texts of Matt18:1-4. He had many examples to help the disciples understand what was important. We have an ego problem more often than we should. We want to be first and feel how important we really are. Yes we are a selfish breed.

  2. Had read in revelation “ from the greatest to the least. In heaven are they some who will be greater than some?

  3. William,

A very good homily. It brought to mind an event that taught me a bit of humility some time ago. I was using a public toilet, was distracted and in a great hurry. As I was rushing out the door, a boy called to me, “Sir, you forgot to wash your hands.” For a split second, many things rushed through my mind, and then the Lord spoke to my heart, so I replied, “Son, you are right. Thank you for reminding me,” and proceeded to wash my hands.

Truth from whatever source is still truth, if we are humble enough to learn and act on it.

    Richard
