5: Noble Prince of Peace – Singing with Inspiration
As the Israelites forgot about God and followed so many other gods and nations, God remained faithful to them, with Isaiah and many other prophets working so hard for God to turn His people around, hence I will choose
Hymn 100 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness as a theme hymn for this quarter. Secondary to this we may use
Hymn 104 – My Shepherd Will Supply My Need.
Our study this week entitled “Noble Prince of Peace” is shown in
Hymn 463 – Peace, Perfect Peace, Hymn 466 – Wonderful Peace along with our request in
Hymn 471 – Grant Us Your Peace.
The Memory Verse is found in Handel’s Messiah, if you wish to have sacred item for your Sabbath School time. It is number 12 in the Messiah program “For Unto Us A Child Is Born” and will ring through the week’s study. For Sunday’s study, this song is preceded by number 11 with the bass singer giving “The People That Walked in Darkness”. God certainly did gift George F Handel with music directly from our Bible.
On Sunday we find Isaiah predicted that Jesus would commence His ministry in Galilee. It really points us to say
Give Me the Bible – Hymn 272 because of all the truths written therein. It is certainly correct that
In Times Like These – Hymn 593 you/we need the Bible and our Savior. The question is asked “who could this child be?”. This question is also asked in
Hymn 141 – What Child Is This?
Tuesday predicts deliverance, and today we still look to our Deliverer:
Hymn 538 – Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah (verse 2) and verse 2 in
Hymn 485 – I Must Tell Jesus.
There are two hymns that relate to the branch of David:
Hymn 145 – Songs of Thankfulness and Praise and
Hymn 408 – Lord, Enthroned in Heavenly Splendor (Wednesday).
We learn of “God is my salvation” (Thursday) and find this in
Hymn 29 – Sing Praise to God,
Hymn 339 – God Is My Strong Salvation,
Hymn 523 – My Faith Has Found a Resting Place and
Hymn 646 – To the Name That Brings Salvation to name just a few hymns.
If you do not know any of the hymns listed above, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing, but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
