  1. Amen! Pastor Earnhardt, very well said and laid out, showing the truth about the first lie, that over time has captivated not only the world, but Christianity sad to say. Why it’s like King Saul who was to defend God and truth by putting witches to death, going to one in the end, to talk to the dead.
Yes Satan over time has made his lie a way of truth through the many avenues of communication and one of the most successful ways has been through Disney, who was a Warlock and a 33 degree Mason and it is said of him, that he would create something that would make Christianity nothing, and he has done a good job at it, masking spiritualism and making it look innocent and family friendly. I mean Magic Kingdom, and what does the Bible have to say about Magic? And now witchcraft has become so bold and accepted we see Harry Potter. And to think at one time people were put to death for Spiritualism. And so we should listen to scripture, as we are told in Eph 5: 11 Have nothing to do with the works of darkness but reveal them.”

  2. I had an interesting experience at work some time ago. An evangelical co-worker brought a printout he downloaded from the bible answer man’s website about “soul sleep”, and asked me what I thought of it. I told him that I would review what he had given me and respond.

The bible answer man quoted Philippians 1:21-24 and then piled many “proof texts” with it to show that “soul sleep” was an unbiblical teaching and that a person went to heaven or hell when they died. In my response, I discussed every proof text and showed how each was taken out of context (misquoted or misinterpreted).

But I struggled with the quote from Philippians because Paul appears to say that if he died, he would be with Christ. I had to argue that Philippians has to be interpreted from the weight of evidence from all the other passages of the bible (including Paul’s own words in his other letters).

My coworker was surprised at my written response and took it to his pastor, who was unable to refute what I had written. Your article covers this subject in a nice succinct way.
