Lesson 10 America and Babylon – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 4, 2018 by Joyce GriffithJune 4, 2018Joyce Griffith

Deadly wound healed. Imagine you are watching the Emperor of Rome waiting three months in the cold winter weather for an audience with Pope Gregory VII. Would you agree it was a “deadly wound” to the papacy when the papal power was shattered by this and succeeding actions? What would be your reaction if you … Continue reading –>

Lesson 10: America and Babylon – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 4, 2018 by Corinne KnopperJune 4, 2018avatar

The biggest question from this week’s study is about ‘Who do I worship?” To help us worship correctly: Hymn 272, “Give Me the Bible”. As “God has faithful people in all churches” (Sunday), everyone can sing heartily:  Hymn 602, “O Brother, Be Faithful”. We will then realize that our God is:  “A Mighty Fortress” – … Continue reading –>

Monday: The United States in Prophecy

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 3, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonAugust 4, 2018avatar
United States in Prophecy

People have asked, and understandably so: How could Rome have the kind of influence today, or in the future, that is depicted in Revelation chapter 13? Long gone are the days when it could command armies, such as it did in times past. The answer is found, too, in Revelation chpater 13. Read Revelation 13:11-12. What marks help … Continue reading –>

Sunday: Deadly Wound Healed

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 2, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonJune 9, 2018avatar

Read Revelation 13:1-10 and go over the reasons why this is referring to the papacy, both its role in the past and in the future. Notice specifically just how prominent a role it is given. What does this mean in terms of last-day events? Though God has faithful people in all churches, Scripture does point to a … Continue reading –>

Friday: Further Thought – End-Time Deceptions

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 31, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonJune 2, 2018avatar
Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: Let’s dwell more on the implications of the theory of evolution in the context of last-day events, especially in regard to the role of the Sabbath. One reason that Charles Darwin, the originator of the theory, promoted evolution was that — not understanding the great controversy-he had a difficult time reconciling evil and suffering … Continue reading –>

Thursday: The Counterfeit Trinity

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 30, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonJune 3, 2018avatar
Counterfeit

The concept of the triune nature of God is found all through the Bible. However, in the context of end-time deceptions and persecution, the book of Revelation reveals a “counterfeit trinity” composed of the dragon, the sea beast, and the land beast of Revelation Chapter 13. Read Revelation 12:17; Rev. 13:1-2. What is described here? The dragon … Continue reading –>

Can the Dead Talk to Us?

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 29, 2018 by William EarnhardtJune 7, 2018avatar

A Bible student excitedly told me about a movie he saw where someone died and went to heaven where he saw his dead loved ones. When I reminded him about the state of the dead, he told me, “Well maybe they did not actually die. Maybe it was a dream.” He was quite emotional about the movie … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
